Evening as part of a night's stay. Very quiet but a good chance to talk to the staff about what makes the place tick through the seasons and about their lives and roles in it.

Originally called Huntsman Inn, an atmospheric inn in the shadow of Scafell, Pike and Great Gable, at the north end of Wastwater. A small collection of buildings with St Olaf's Church in a field nearby. A walkers' and climbers' haven welcoming diners and drinkers alike. The bar has 9 handpumps, 1 of which is mounted on the hatch by the residents' lounge. A variety of rooms and lettings for accommodation.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried 2 of them.
