Evening. Very quickly on to the bar to act as one of the servers. The more I think about it I reckon most people would seriously underestimate the work that the local CAMRA branch must put in to organise, set up, administrate, staff and take down a festival such as this. Dosser, esteemed correspondent on this website, seemed most bemused to see me working, believing me to be a man of eternal leisure instead.

Always amazes me how quick this fills up, barely a seat left at 2pm. Met some old acquaintances and had a chat with Tony from Hopdaemon.

White Cliffs Festival of Winter Ales. 23rd anniversary of this winter festival held in the atmospheric Maison Dieu Town Hall. A 2 day (Friday and Saturday) festival with 75 beers which are all winter and strong ales on gravity, all 5.0% abv or higher, at a flat rate £1.50 per half and £3 per pint. A Dover tradition.
