I can see why ChrisE likes this town, a decent pub every couple hundred yards, this was the first and finishing at the Red Lion Hotel.

I arrived just before the official 5pm opening and waited for a minute or two whilst the umbrellas were put up outside the pub. It did not take long after opening for the pub to become deservedly busy. I like the fact that a small village like Parbold has a railway station with two trains per hour and at least five decent real ale pubs in an easy walk.

Problem Child - Tantrum4.00Excellent
Martland Mill - Artic Convoy4.50ExcellentA new beer on and customers were given good sized tasters. I ended up buying a pint of it. A good dark ale.

I Just alighted from the train and followed everybody else, they nearly all seemed to be heading for this place. I was impressed with just how busy this place was as it appeared closed on my previous visit to Parbold.
