Thursday afternoon, I asked for directions to any Chinese Restaurant. That got the regulars confused and flummoxed (if that is a word), basically there is an acute shortage of them in this town. Top up given when requested.

Late afternoon into early evening. I have the back room to myself, whilst overhearing a succession of communal conversations from the front bar. My conclusion is that the regulars, present and absent, seem to suffer from a wide variety of ailments and medical conditions.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Great Heck - Citra4.50ExcellentCould justifiably be called Great Citra for short.
Doghouse (Lancs) - UPA4.00ExcellentVery pale. A crisp and hoppy APA.
Black Storm - IPA5.50GoodGolden and clear. A smooth and mellow IPA.
Three Friends - Bad Uncle Barry4.20GoodGolden and served with a very creamy head. It is a well-hopped IPA with a very bitter finish.

A brief lunchtime visit, where we caught up with more friends before setting off to AFC Fylde to watch football. It was not my round and I did not approach the bar, so have no beer list.

Pomona Island - DDH Pale Mosaic4.20ExcellentA first class, fruity Pale Ale.

Mid to late-evening. Quite a crowd of beer-seekers gathered here – the local CAMRA Branch I half suspect. I retreat into the back room.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bridgehouse - Pale Bandit4.20ExcellentAccording to the pumpclip, this beer has a ‘light pallet’. Far from woody, it was in fact a pale gold beer with good body for its strength and a subtle citrus character.
Fell - Robust Porter4.80ExcellentA rich, dark brown porter with roasted malt character.
Rivington - Sunset Strip4.20GoodCloudy (unfined) gold. A bit yeasty. Peaches.
Borough (Lancaster) - IPA4.50AcceptableGolden and clear. Very bitter malt and bitter hops too.
Saltaire - Decennium Pale4.60Not Tried

A very pleasant little pub located in a former charity shop in the town centre. An oasis of calm, surrounded by pubs that seem to specialise in Sunday night karaoke. I stayed almost until closing time.

Described elsewhere as a micropub, I would describe it as an ale house but definitely not a micropub. There are no spirits sold here but it has considerable number of keg fonts, two separate drinking areas downstairs and a fair sized room upstairs, it also has a fruit machine which is something I do not associate with micropubs. It is however a very good pub located in premises that were previously used for some other purpose. A good place to enjoy a pint, I took some time to look at pictures on the walls and browse through a book of old Preston. I have not listed all the beers on offer as Jason has already done this.

Lunchtime visit we were the only customers until a couple of pub tickers arrived soon after. Spacious open feel with a small pub sized bar.
