Afternoon visit - no show of the scheduled bus and a cold 20 minute wait forced us in here. No real ale; Guinness “sorry, only in pints”; we settled on a whisky to warm us up.

Evening visit prompted by seeing the place packed last Saturday. Did not expect real ale but a single handpump was in situ and if I heard right had been installed in the last day or two. Friendly daughter of the owner showed me the suntrap garden and the upwards sloping skittle alley at the back.

The pub is found in Dover, Kent, CT17 0TA.

Towards the Buckland end of London Road this is one of few remaining former Gardner's of Ash and then Tomson & Wotton pubs in Dover now privately owned. A small one bar interior with a single handpump bringing real ale back (in late 2016) after some years without. Several steps lead up to a route to the garden and the (rare) upwards sloping skittle alley alleged to flummox away teams.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 1 beer and tried it.
