I'm early to meet a friend here and imagine that I might have the place to myself for a while. In fact I'm lucky to bag the last free table.

I met my friend Dave R here for one of our occasional Thursday evenings on the beer. A nice pub, which I had not visited for many years.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Big Penny (formerly Truman's) as of late 2022 contract brewed - Zephyr4.40GoodTruman’s do not over-hop their beers, preferring a more-traditional taste. But this is the exception – full-bodied and hoppy.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Oliver's Island3.80AcceptableA disappointing Golden Ale. Rather bland and a bit thin-tasting.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10Not Tried

A fine, street corner pub in a genteel area, dating from the 1820s. The interior is quite well-preserved, with wood panelling, etched glass and snob screens on the bar. Seating is divided into four distinct areas, and there is a patio area at the front. The pub is Grade II-listed and appears on CAMRA’s Regional Inventory of pubs with historic interiors.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 3 of them.
