I am in the unusual situation (for me) tonight of spending an evening in the pub in the company of six ladies. For some reason this makes me less picky than usual about where I go and what I drink.

Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Gold4.00AcceptableMuch better than the ‘Ordinary’ and I stuck with this.
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood3.70PoorI’m afraid that I did not like this at all – soft and almost soapy. One was definitely enough.

The pub is found in Westminster, Central London, SW1P 4BZ.

A street corner pub situated just off Horseferry Road and across the road from the legendary Regency Café. The pub was present here by the 1830s but came under threat during a rash of redevelopment in the area in the 2000s. Eventually the pub’s future was secured, but as a ‘lock-up’ pub; the upper floors having been sold off as flats. It is a small, single bar pub.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 2 of them.
