My first visit, fabulous choice of ales and blissfully peaceful. Not many people around and about.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Country - BFG4.20GoodA fairly standard 'golden ale', decent malt and hops. Good quaffing ale, excellent condition and presentation.
Silhill - North Star4.50GoodStill trying to get used to these black beers. This was described as a 'premium black ale', tasted bit like a porter to me. Is there some subtle difference that I don't appreciate. Nevertheless, it was as good as any other decent 'black' beer. Excellent condition and presentation.

The pub is found in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 2DZ.

A tastefully refurbished ex Courage pub with a large comfortable bar area and a quaint, intimate lounge. Lots of beams and panelling but the landlady assures me that it is 'Mock Tudor' and not authentic! Boasting nine real ales and one cider on hand pump. Whilst the Courage name has disappeared, the Courage cockerel still sits proudly above the inn sign.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
