Lunchtime. Mostly old eaters inside. Mostly old cyclists drinking outside. Nice garden, pleasant staff.

Early evening for a swift drink. A large part of the garden has been covered over to provide plenty of all-weather outdoor seating. Reasonably busy - punters being offered indoor tables as well.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Premium Ale4.10AcceptableNot at its best - but the price was (£4.20)

I was running errands in Canterbury (this time it was for a vibrating chair) and so opportunity knocked. I drive past this pub every day on my way to work and it always looks idyllic with its backdrop of orchards. The inside was surprising; although well maintained it was quite bare with very few of the ornamental paraphernalia that most pubs have. There was a front drinking area with a larger, more eating focused, area to the rear. Outside was a large garden with a raised wooden patio.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70AcceptableLooked in good condition but it was served too cold to be able to taste much. There was a slight bitter finish but it evaporated more or less immediately. Nothing wrong with this but it needed to be warmer.
