I came here for a family commitment. It did not take long to remember why I try to avoid trains to/from London during school hilidays, I was exhausted by the time I arrived. A busy and friendly pub with good food and well kept ales.

A most enjoyable visit, we ate here and the food was exceptionally good along with attentive service. Very much better than my previous visit four years ago.

Mid evening visit in very pleasant surroundings of a contemporary style, however marred by the beer choice. A pity the St Austell Proper Job had run out on the 4th handpump.

1030ish visit for a pre crawl breakfast with Chris E. Bad service experienced, understaffed, disorganised and very poor value for the £11.95 spent.

No beer on this visit, I had about forty minutes between trains and just wanted a breakfast, and the waitress told me that I would get my food in good time for the train. Unfortunately my breakfast order never reached the kitchen and those that came in after me were getting their food. Eventually I had to leave for my train, I was not charged for the coffee, orange juice and toast that I had already consumed so no complaints.
