Lunchtime and busy with mostly families with well behaved children. Cosy atmosphere I sat by the crackling fire by the end of the bar.

Mid afternoon and welcoming with a crackling log fire on the go. I was expecting a restaurant with a bar, I was wrong and the place still retains a pub atmosphere. Used to be the eastern terminus of route 201 from Epping in the 80's, using Leyland Nationals from Loughton garage, which I wish I'd had as my bones were shaken after a ride from Upminster on a Bristol MW.
