Friday evening crowds pouring in.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Beer Factory - BA Brett Berry Sour8.00ExcellentA soured beer with blackberries and blueberries, aged in a Bordeaux barrel. Approaching wine in character.
London Beer Factory - Fear of the Dark10.00ExcellentA slightly soured Milk Stout that has been barrel-aged for a year. A remarkable beer that tastes like a glass of Port with chocolate. High in tannins. Some sweetness in the finish.
22 Feb 2019 (Stephen Harris)
The first barrel-aged beers are beginning to appear here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Beer Factory - First Steps II - Pineapple Sour7.50ExcellentKeg. A strong, barrel-aged beer with brett sourness. Loads of pineapple.
London Beer Factory - Dance Juice v.35.80ExcellentMurky, bitter and juicy. Citra,Mosaic and Ekuanot.
London Beer Factory - XPA4.30Not TriedIt was only as I was leaving that I noticed a cask beer was available.
17 Aug 2018 (Stephen Harris)
This large bar has re-opened after a short closure. The bar counter is now along the right side of the arch and now has 24 beer taps, all in use I think tonight. Long lines of wooden barrels are to the left, but it is not clear whether they house maturing beer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Beer Factory - DAPA8.40ExcellentA seriously impressive beer from some kind of keg, although not affected by carbonation.
London Beer Factory - Big Milk8.70ExcellentFrom key-keg. A sublime, strong, Milk Stout.
05 Jan 2018 (Stephen Harris)
An impressive new venue, although there was nothing barrel-aged actually for sale tonight – I guess it’s all still aging away. Alarmed to find that the advertised prices were per 2/3 measure, not per pint as I had expected.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Beer Factory - DAPA8.40ExceptionalFrom a keg of some sort, but free of over-carbonation problems. An absolutely top-notch, strong, hoppy, US-style Pale Ale.
London Beer Factory - All Night Long3.30ExcellentFrom a keg of some kind – and quite fizzy. A low-strength, pale-coloured beer with a big hop content.

The pub is found in Bermondsey, Central London, SE1 2HQ.

A new bar established in time for Christmas 2017. This is a large railway arch premises devoted to barrel-ageing of beer brewed at the London Beer Factory in Gipsy Hill. The walls are lined with wooden barrels, the first few of which are maturing away. There were originally around ten taps for keg and KeyKeg beers, which are only sold in two-thirds pint quantities. This bar re-opened with a completely revamped interior and 24 taps in August 2018 after a couple of months of closure.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 10 different beers and tried 9 of them.
