A few of us popped in for a lunchtime drink before attending a good friend's funeral nearby. Not too busy and the usual friendly and efficient service as expected here. My friend nearly stood on the table, cheered and clapped with joy when one of the staff ejected a family group who hadn't seen the pub's 'no children at any time' policy clearly displayed at the entrance.

Late lunchtime busy outside so we waited a short while to be allocated a table inside - bonus avoiding the large group of cackling hens in pain during egg laying duties. Great range of beers on offer.

Lunchtime and busy seemed popular for a lunch venue with many tables reserved as taken. Despite this a air of peace and calm with efficient friendly bar staff, plus the children ban added to the ambience. We partook in a great value lunch even before ChrisE presented his 25% off voucher.

Monday lunchtime and a very pleasant place to stop for a couple of pints and a bite to eat. Very good service from friendly and helpful bar staff. I was amused to overhear a woman telling her other half that she absolutely forbade him to have a second drink.
