Back for an early evening snifter or two - ales still £2.20 a pint until 7pm. Good ambience, friendly service. 4 other ales on as per yesterday.

Sunday evening. Best ale selection I had found so far in Cockermouth, nice ambience with a few drinkers scattered about. All real ales are £2.20 all day on Sunday.

The pub is found in Cockermouth, Cumbria, CA13 9NQ.

On Market Place - long house built into the hillside. Entrance into a double-fronted,stone floor bar with some high and low seating. A small area behind with a log burning stove and wrought iron stairs up to a first floor dining area. A larger area behind this up 5 steps with half a dozen tables, TV and a large open fireplace. Finally leading into an outside terraced area at the back with picnic tables on three levels.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 7 different beers and tried 3 of them.
