Mid evening, many groups in.After failing to find room for us and our dogs in a couple of West Kent pubs, we regrouped and came here.

Evening - plenty of diners in but the main bar was empty. Only one of three hand pumps in use (see beer notes).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00GoodOh well, Hobson’s choice it is then.
Musket - Muzzleloader4.50UndrinkableYoung barman slogged through about 12 pulls on the pump to deliver me a short pint. After a bit of discussion and a taste by him he agreed that the sludgy appearance meant he had reached the end of the barrel. Happily replaced it.

Early evening - my wife had been here recently for a meal and was impressed by the food. They have a “Stevenson’s room” complete with a rocking horse and tools from the nearby Stevenson’s rocking horse workshops. Restaurant areas looked busy, main bar less so.

Two of us came here for a meal and some beer on a Thursday lunchtime. The pub was extremely busy but service was excellent. It is nice to see a pub that was a long time closure reopened and apparently doing very well.

Late afternoon on a wet Wednesday. I'd driven past one afternoon last week, and thought it looked busy, and Jack William's visit prompted me to look in. Dining families were already in attendance, together with a few drinkers.A long time since my only previous visit, when it was a Courage pub.

Early Sunday evening- busy with diners but the large bar area had only a few other drinkers in. Very polite young staff. Our dog was welcome in the bar area. The refurbishment is to a high standard. Clearly a food-led pub but comfortable enough to pop in for a pint.

I met a friend for lunch here. It was incredibly busy for a Wednesday lunchtime. I was told that the opening day was absolutely manic. It is nice to see yet another pub reopening after spending far too long as a restaurant.
