Visits Details

06 Dec 2019 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. Signs itself as a micropub but has 2 large rooms each with a bar counter, the rear one with pool table and darts. On an already mild night the roaring log burning stove soon had me fanning myself. Recorded music playing continuously. For a pub open less than a week a strong customer following tonight. Friendly forthcoming manager at the bar.

The pub is found in Wainscott, Kent, ME3 8AG.

A pub in Hollywood Lane, opened on Sunday 1st December 2019, that has risen again out of the former Wainscott Institute, sharing the site with a Co-op Store. Located at the junction of Wainscott Road and Hollywood Lane. Originally run along the lines of a micropub but with 2 quite large bars and full length bar counters in both. Real ales and ciders were then served on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room at the rear. A log burning stove with long flue pipe can make the front bar very cosy on cold days. Closed late 2020 when licence was revoked for Covid-19 rules transgressions. Re-opened with its new name on Monday 21st June 2021 now selling real ales through 3 handpumps.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 2 of them.
