Mid evening visit. This is the only proper pub in the village - and the whole of the surrounding area seemed to have descended, at least 200 people, mostly eating but a good number crowded around a TV as Newcastle FC was live. I sat in the garden for 10 minutes waiting for the queue at the bar to go down. Eventually got a pint but not a pleasant experience. Scope for a smaller pub in the vicinity I think.

Early evening visit. We are camping nearby. The garden has been hugely developed and has plenty of table and some “pods” or garden sheds as I like to call them - for inclement weather. Plenty of inside tables as well - rather food oriented but avoids appearing like a restaurant. Plenty of trade on a warm August evening.

Alnwick - Lindisfarne4.00GoodSubtitled “Holy Island Bitter”. A rather sweet malty brew with hints of honey.
Anarchy - Blonde Star4.10AcceptableJust a taster of this - very pale with not much body.
Banks's - Wainwright4.10PoorWith all the customers I was hoping for a much fresher ping of this good standard amber ale. Turned out to be clear with a good head but a faint whiff.

Walked 4 miles along the coastal path from Low Newton to get here. Beadnell has a very large static holiday home site and a lot of new housing - but only a tiny old village centre, one pub, one hotel, one cafe and I think just one corner shop. The pub was busy with diners, walkers and plenty of dogs. Young staff, very polite and friendly. Good ale selection.
