Friendly and welcoming. Shame about the big TV above the fire place. Switched on with nobody watching.

The pub is found in Wreay, Cumbria, CA4 0RL.

Modernised (open plan) village pub dating back to 1786, set in a small village, 5 miles south of Carlisle. It has been refurbished with handmade brickwork and granite slabs, under floor heating adding to the warm, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in 2005.The bar has been built using hand-made bricks rescued from an old Cumbrian mill race, decorating its front is an old ploughshare, the rural connection continued with a part of the edging to the bar coming from a combine harvester.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
