Early evening visit. Nothing ever seems to change very much in this likeable pub. In fact I’m sure it was all the same people tonight, sitting in the same seats as last time I came in.

I came in here with a thirst after walking back to Sheffield from the Nag’s Head, but was caught out by the 3:30pm closing time, only having a chance of a couple of quick ones from an impressive beer range.

Brewed with some excellent hops: Magnum, Herkules, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Stella, Amarillo and Pacific Jade. That combination gives a fresh and juicy tasting hoppy beer with a lingering fruity hop finish. My score 17/20. |

Love this pub, best pub in Sheffield is between this and The Fat Cat in my opinion. Too hot to be inside so sat in their little terrace.

Formerly the Cask & Cutler, this is a superb unspoilt two roomed back street free house in Henry Street, at one time with its own (Little Ale Cart) brewery, located at Shalesmoor tram stop. Sold to Sheaf Inns in 2016.
