Fairly busy as expected for the lunchtime trade, I sat in the bar area as the tables there were not laid out for diners.

Banks's - Wainwright4.10GoodThere were many duplicates for this beer on the website interface so I opted for the wrong one at the top of the list. I gather the duplicates are down to folk using the app.

Busy, and very welcoming. I could have happily stayed a bit longer in here, but we had to catch a bus, so there was just time for one pint.

We noticed on our arrival that we were a day early for their beer festival, but the regular beers were starting to run out, so we were fortunate to get to try some of the festival beers as they became available.

Food served, and friendly staff. Full range of Jenning's beers, as well as guests. Sunday Roasts, Wine Tasting nights also held. A nice change from the Taylors-heavy Howarth pubs.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Jennings (since closure now brewed at Marston's) - Sneck Lifter5.10ExceptionalVery nice dark mild, full of black chocolate and port-like flavours. Strong, however - proceed with caution. Very light for it's abv and style, and far superior to the bottled version.
Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry)5.60ExcellentAnother strong one. Well balanced with caramel and toffee malts and a peppery hoppiness. Very easy to drink, despite its abv.
