Three cask ales on today (I did not make a note of them). We were informed that they hope to return to five casks once the two hand pumps in the other bar were repaired. Fairly quiet at the time of our visit.

Sunday lunchtime. A noisy "public bar" area with various other eating areas, including a garden at the rear. Efficient service despite appearing somewhat disorganised. Food was excellent and good value.

We went to visit Upnor Castle where we learnt how the Dutch gave us a pasting up the Medway in the 1600's. After that a beer was in order. The pub was very busy with people eating and with drinkers. The staff were friendly.

I had some time off today so picked this pub as somewhere that was out of the way. Wow isn't Upper Upnor a lovely village. The pub already had a few diners in when I entered at 12:02. I got my drink and sat in the main bar for a bit listening to the 60's music. That, plus the décor of slightly faded thin red striped wall paper gave the place the feel of a 60's hotel bar. The garden was on split levels with plenty of greenery so I soon moved out there and caught a few rays.

Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExcellentReally smoky. Kind of like smoked mackerel. Weird but really good. Oily too. Weird. Gotta love Goachers!
