Thursday afternoon, and apart from our crowd it was fairly quiet. We were told that the pub will eventually hold up to 3,500 people when the first and second floors are opened.

A pleasant, early evening visit. We sat outside in good weather, listening to some laid-back live music and watching a couple of artists who were at work painting one external and one internal wall. Had to leave before the promised barbeque even got started, which was a shame.

Very nice, watching the sun go down from the canal-side decking and sharing a couple of meat and cheese platters.

Mid-afternoon on the second day of opening. The Fire Brigade were in attendance when I arrived and I had to wait outside with other customers until the ‘all clear’ was given. A bit too chilly to sit outside on the terrace. The food looked pretty good here.

The pub is found in Hackney, Greater London, E3 2NQ.
Opened in May 2014 as a brewery tap for the nearby Truman’s Brewery and named the Cygnet. This modern-style bar is situated in a former industrial premises at Swan Wharf, next to Old Ford Lock on the Lee Navigation, opposite the former Channel 4 Big Breakfast studio and very close to the Olympic Stadium. It features a large, canal-side terrace and an open kitchen within the pub. Long opening hours; breakfast until late. The pub closed for 'winter hibernation' in October 2014, re-opening in March 2015 as the Plough (and run by the same people as the Plough in Homerton). Still operates as the Truman's tap.
