Visits Details

10 Feb 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Late return visit until close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burnt Mill - Citra Sands4.30GoodFresh cask on tonight, very zingy with slight un-warned of haze
Nightjar (formerly Slightly Foxed) - Groove is in the Heart6.80GoodA milkshake resembling 7 hop beer that poured and remained flat in the glass. Mellower than I expected but was obvious it was high ABV
Track - Sonoma3.80Not Tried
Gun - Project Babylon Pale Ale4.60Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - 12 Apostles5.00Not Tried
Orbit - Dead Wax5.50Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Carpathia5.30Not Tried
10 Feb 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
First of two evening visits.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Carpathia5.30GoodGreat name for a Titanic ale. Labelled as an ESB. Very wet dog, earthy. An acquired taste or not. Not, in my case
Track - Sonoma3.80Not Tried
Gun - Project Babylon Pale Ale4.60Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - 12 Apostles5.00Not Tried
Orbit - Dead Wax5.50Not Tried
Nightjar (formerly Slightly Foxed) - Groove is in the Heart6.80Not Tried
03 Feb 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kirkstall - Kirkstall Pale Ale4.00ExcellentExcellent condition but a rather boring style being so ubiquitous now
Siren Craft - Broken Dream Breakfast Stout6.50ExcellentFirst rate pour and condition in glass
Cloudwater - Brown5.00GoodS&G please get that faulty handpump sorted - it, just that one with its very slow constricted pour, ruins the presentation and minimises pour agitation leaving a flat pint. I had to make multiple decants between two pint glasses to get a head and some natural carbonation and mouthfeel
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Easy Rider4.30Not TriedAssuming brewed by Thornbridge then deceptive provenance on pump clip, by omission
Brew York - Make it Nectaron4.60Not Tried
Marble - Every Street4.30Not Tried
Verdant - Lamanva Best Bitter4.00Not Tried
27 Jan 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pentrich - Seek the Boneyards5.80GoodDespite being ripped through a sparkler almost no head or lacing, flat in glass
Track - Dust & Wind5.60AcceptableBordering on poor, as warmish and flat. No off flavours fortunately
Signature Brew - Roadie - All-Night IPA4.30Not Tried
East London (ELB) - Beyond the Tower3.80Not Tried
Verdant - Penpol3.80Not Tried
Cloudwater - Fuzzy4.20Not Tried

20 Jan 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close. The barman's Spotify play list was Ska based.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - This Time Next Year Rodney6.00Excellent4½* Unmatchable flavour feast. Pleased was poured through a sparkler to give long lasting head and lacing
Brew York - Make it Nectaron4.60ExcellentSingle hop job with distinctive dry bitterness
RedWillow - Headless3.90GoodA tasty brew
Brew York - Calmer Chameleon (was 3.7%)3.40Not Tried

13 Jan 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burning Sky - Blended Export Stout6.50Excellent4½* Absolutely superb. Just short of 5* as I had to make multiple decantings between two pint glasses to imbue a good head, lacing and extra natural carbonation then ooooooomph. A classic nightcap
Liquid Light - Cinnamon Girl Biscoff Stout5.60GoodA good bitterness, perhaps less sense of cinnamon
Marble - Manchester Bitter4.20Not Tried
Marble - Draft3.90Not Tried
Brew York - Caracara4.40Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - Our House4.20Not Tried
Vocation - NZ Pale with Experimental Hop NZH-101 (collaboration with Salt)3.40Not TriedPresumably another reduced beer duty driven low abv ale
06 Jan 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rooster's - Howl Turkish Delight Imperial Stout7.20AcceptableI did not pick up the promised flavour(s) but alas anyway this was poured dead, flat, no head or lacing so a chore to finish
