Mid evening usual buzz of people coming and going ... and staying. Seems to do well for passing trade and regulars. Continues to be a good traditional boozer.

Evening. Well run house with relaxed atmosphere. Amused when someone asked the strength of the Kentish Pip real cider and was told "anything between 5 and 6 per cent".

Canterbury Pub of the Year. Looking forward to our visit but what a disappointment. Gloombar, Master brew and Bombadier on 3 of the pumps. No thank you. Moved on.

The pub is found in Canterbury, Kent, CT2 8BS.
Tudor style, low ceilinged pub with U-shaped bar counter which is close to Canterbury West railway station. A corridor leads to the toilets and then a well appointed garden. Good selection of beers and a cider served in good condition. 5 handpumps. CAMRA Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable Branch Pub of the Year 2014.
