1545-2025 our final stop and venue for our group tonight, fairly quiet on arrival our group soon swelled during the evening as well as many locals coming and going. Again we were kindly supplied with free bar snacks which are always welcome. As with the other pubs today this is my first visit, very impressed and a rare find these days.

Pub 8. Propper old school. Best pub in Colchester yet. Like a country pub and apparently hasn't changed for 50 years. Owned by the Colchester brewery.

First pub of tour of pubs near St Boltolphs (Colchester Town) railway station. Very much a good traditional boozer, I like it.

Mid-afternoon on a lovely sunny day, at a time when the pub is quiet. Only the Oddie is eccentric enough to have a log fire blazing and a Christmas beer on the bar in this kind of weather. Time stopped still in here in around 1977, and it must have been the wintertime. Some beers have progressed to £2:98 a pint.
BeerABVScoreNotes

17:15 Last stop. The best was definitely saved until last. Excellent Landlord great pub. The Landlord is threatening to retire so visit while you can. Walked back to the Town station from here and on the way I was hit by a quarter of a pizza thrown from an upstairs window. Definitely a first for me.

Early evening, I was impressed by the good value and clearly displayed pricing on the pump clips. Beers were individually priced to odd pence, such as £2.86 or £2.87 per pint, no continually rounding up to the next 10p every time beer goes up by a penny in this pub. Tonight was the landlord's birthday and at 6pm all prices were reduced for the rest of the evening with cask ales on offer at an amazing £1.40 per pint.
