A nice evening to go to sea, so I cruised down to Woolwich from central London by Clipper. This pub is close to the pier, so straight in on reaching land. Very busy; Friday evening crowds.

13:45 Having failed at Kingsbury decided to come here. As per the description an oasis of calm in busy Woolwich. Sat in the front half of the left hand side, sun streaming through the windows, doing the crossword with a couple of pints. Very pleasant.

Evening. Uninspiring range, even Young's cask beers were not on so a chance to try the much hyped keg Young's London Stout. Looks great in the badged glass and sweet Guinness in taste.

Evening. Visit only to try the local brewery Hop Stuff's wares. At £4.15 pp for a beer on which presumably lower PBD is being paid will mean I shall look elsewhere for Hop Stuff in future.

The official launch tonight of Hop Stuff Brewery, with the first pints pulled at 7pm sharp. Pub very busy, mostly with diners, but a good number here specifically for the launch of this Woolwich brewery.

Woolwich is host to nine tall ships offering excursions upriver to Greenwich, plus today sees the passing downriver of the yachts participating in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Together these have brought large crowds to the Arsenal site. Nevertheless it is a disappointment when coming here at around 4pm to find that all but one real ale line has been drunk dry.

The pub is found in Woolwich, Greater London, SE18 6GH.

A newly-established pub in a large building – part of the re-development of the historic Woolwich Arsenal site. There is a central bar servery, with dining areas and comfortable drinking areas leading off to left and right. Also an extensive area of outside tables and chairs. Close to Woolwich Pier and feels a world away from Woolwich town centre, despite being physically just the width of a main road away. 8 then later just 4 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 9 times, seen 18 different beers and tried 7 of them.
