Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan SamplingGood16 May 2026 Very good head and lacing and lasting throughout on this mild from Symondshyde Farm, located between St Albans and Hatfield and roughly 4 to 5 miles east of St Albans city centre. A dry bitter first bite with a hint of earthy hops. A lightly malty bitterness rising with toffee and sweet caramel infusions from its toffee malt and alongside its specialty dark crystal and roasted malts. A hoppy bitterness coming to the fore from its subdued British hops. Slightly thin on flavour methinks on sliding out but served well in terms of its lasting head around the side of the glass.
