Hogan SamplingExcellent09 May 2025 9th and final beer: Was going to try 10 but another ran out and so went for a whole half this time for my last one rather another third as with the others. This Yorkshire porter from Barnsley came with very good head and lacing and lasted well. A dry malty first hit. A maltiness to die for then presented itself and carried on with the odd bitterness bobbing up and down! Maris Otter malt and Crystal malt give it its caramel-toffee flavours. Black malt gives it a hint of burnt coffee and Coffee malt does give it hints of coffee and chocolate. The odd Fuggles hops also got in on the act of its making. A wonderful porter to go out on and marking another fine visit to the Bexley Beer Festival. It was a sterling effort made by all the volunteers to ensure it was such an enjoyable festival once again!
