Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan SamplingGood05 Feb 2026 1st beer of this visit: Second day on for this Staffordshire golden ale brewed in Burton-upon-Trent, 11 miles north-east of Derby and still presenting good head and lacing. A fruity first bite. A good dose of fruits hurtling up at my taste buds and giving them a good pounding with the likes of spicy hedgerow berries including blackcurrant plus lemon in on the onslaught. A dry hoppiness winning over from its Brewers Gold hops, developed at Wye College in the UK and known for its high resin content, lending it a gentle bitterness before cascading downwards.
