These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The Robert Pocock, Gravesend, Kent

WhoScoreWhenNotes
Hogan SamplingGood24 Jan 2026 Presented with good head and lacing and lasting the course, this golden ale from the Vale of Leven Industrial Estate near Dumbarton, north-west of Glasgow in Scotland, had a dry hoppy first hit. A fruity hoppiness rising from its UK Cascade and Jester hop varieties. A gentle bitterness winning over with a biscuity maltiness joining in. A fruity hoppiness prevailing with floral and citrus flavours to the fore before paddling out. Its Jester hops balancing the sweetness from its Maris Otter malts and leading to a dry finish. The brewery behind it was established in 2011 and this beer has been widely distributed through JD Wetherspoon pubs across the UK as a featured guest ale. This golden ale was in good condition and admirably washed down my curry and to prepare me for one last watering hole of the day in Gravesend.
