| Hogan Sampling | | 14 Mar 2026 | Brewed by Adnams Brewery in Southwold, this Suffolk-based amber coloured brown ale is a collaboration with Good Word Brewing from Georgia, USA, for the J D Wetherspoon Spring 2026 Beer Festival. Todd DiMatteo, owner and brewer at Good Word Brewing has worked alongside the Adnams’ team to develop the recipe. Very good head and lacing and lasting. A malty caramelised first hit. A hoppy bitterness from UK Goldings hops rising providing an earthy, honey-like, and slightly spicy character. A mild maltiness winning over from its brown malt lending it bready and toasty notes and its chocolate malt aiding its lingering dark chocolatiness. Very palatable and assisted admirably in downing a Spoons’ curry. |
