| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 28 Mar 2026 | This locally produced traditional English amber bitter from an independent craft brewery* based in Worthing, West Sussex, founded in 2020, came with very good head and lacing and lasting throughout. A fruited first hit. A dry maltiness rising with bready and biscuity flavours. A hoppy fruity infusion delighting my taste buds. The hops are not detailed but likely to be local British varieties like Fuggles or East Kent Goldings giving it a moreishly earthy, spicy touch with floral hints. A very dry hoppiness on the sailing out. Served in very good condition. *Merakai Brewing Company operates a dedicated taproom in the heart of Worthing, which houses their 400-litre 2-vessel brewery with 100kg mashtun at Unit 8, Stanford Square, Worthing BN11 3EZ. |
