Ian | 25 Apr 2008 | When it said wheat beer on the festival list, I expected a golden one. When the barman poured it, I was a tad suspicious, but looking the beer up, it is described as a "dark wheat beer." Anyway my friend Adi said "it tastes like beer." For me I thought that it tasted a bit like a porter/stout with some choc. Compared with German dunkelweizens, this isn’t even close, but it is very drinkable. The wheat gives it a bit more fullness in mouth. The roasted malt doesn’t really come through. A bit like a dark roasty mild but with more mouth feel. Bizarre. |
