Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

WhoScoreWhenNotes
IanGood30 Nov 2007 Woody is my first reaction. Certainly strong in ABV. Woody spicey aroma, oily old ale feel in mouth, hot apple peel flavour on end. Some bitter dark choc. Oily texture suits it. Long finish. Not unpleasant, but certainly unusual.
IanAcceptable08 Nov 2004 Bit of an oddity, but worth a half just to try it

St Peter's Spiced Ale

4.70% ABV.

Dark beer. Slight smell of liquorice and malt. Sickly fruity liquorice taste. If you like it then you'll love it, otherwise it is just a bit of an oddity.

We have tried this beer twice.

We have given this beer an average score of Acceptable to Good.
