Late afternoon and teeming with folk with most occupying the terrace with its splendid views over the Medway however we found a free table there and enjoyed the superb atmosphere.

A nice old pub with a riverside terrace and cricket on the TV. £3 a pint was a pleasant surprise - it may have been some kind of happy hour.

16:00 visit. Having been to an event at the nearby Friars, this was a nice little stop-off before the next bus home. The small patio garden was popular with it's tranquil view of the Medway and the medieval bridge.

The pub is found in Aylesford, Kent, ME20 7AY.
In the High Street. Bought from Ei Group in autumn 2018. 3 handpumps. Serious fire Sunday 22nd May 2022. Closed for a while and re-opened in early February 2023. Closed spring 2024 after death of licensee, subsequently re-opened.
