Evening - Has had several changes of landlord since the sadly missed Russell's tenure - after Sheps bought the pub and so reduced the beer choice :-(

A large and friendly pub on the corner of a T-Junction. We chatted with the landlord who told us about the other pubs he's run in the past. I was glad to see his support for Goacher's beers. This was a nice pub and I'll be back.

A bit lifeless but still good to see one of my favourite beers on.

Came here with Andrew as part of our West Kent tour. Russell, the landlord, was very friendly and gave me a tour of the pub as Andrew read a book Russell showed him on Whitbread pubs in Kent. Some interesting pictures on the walls with lots of great stories attached to them.

The pub is found in Claygate, Kent, TN12 9PL.
Friendly, large, red brick, corner pub, with an L- shaped bar that serves the public and saloon bars. Real fire in the saloon and popular dart board in the public bar. There is a dining room to the side and a large garden to the rear for better weather. The restaurant features flambé evenings and has some interesting pictures on the walls from hop picking days, some Fremlins lithographs and a couple of Hogarth prints. Converted into 4 houses.
We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 4 different beers and tried 3 of them.
