Mid afternoon in this large open plan pub laid out mostly for diners. Busy with many folk around the bar area and a few seated diners.

This pub re-opened this week and apparently has a well-known chef in the kitchen. Surprisingly quiet, perhaps word hasn’t got around yet. Judging by the size of the neighbouring properties, perhaps the local trade is comprised of Russian oligarchs and FIFA executives who have other things to do just now. Dave and I enjoy a pint in the garden.

The pub is found in Canonbury, Greater London, N1 2NS.
A large pub situated within a large garden in an upmarket residential area on Canonbury Place. Properly called the Canonbury Tavern, although the word ‘tavern’ is often dropped. Re-opened in May 2015 after refurbishment and now under Young’s ownership. Much modernised interior.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 2 of them.
