After a 65 mile cycleing day I continued for another 3 miles through Galway to find this pub. My wife and I visited it over 20 years ago and it was superb. Unfortunately closed until 7:30 pm on this Sunday and I had to get back to my hotel. From the outside it looks unchanged and the windows were crammed with dusty old objects. Will have to go back again some day.
In the western suburb of Galway, Salthill. Also known as the Salthill House. A colonial style exterior in bright yellow with maroon name-strip. The bar is rammed with bric-a-brac and traditionally has an open fire with underwear drying on clothes lines around it.
We have visited this pub once, seen 0 different beers and tried them all.
