Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The Long Pond, Eltham, Greater London

Philip PirripGood28 May 2022 Had better examples, not the usual well balanced taste
Philip PirripExcellent24 Feb 2020 Half a mark up from Saturday's. This had that delicious sweetness and floral hoppiness similar to that I recall from its time when brewed at M&B in the early 1980s

Philip PirripExcellent25 Jan 2020 Very downable indeed. IPA moved a lot between breweries in the 70s and 80s but this reminded me of the version I often drank in the 80os

The River Ale House, East Greenwich, Greater London

Philip PirripExcellent02 Nov 2020 My palate or what? Back to excellent
Philip PirripGood01 Nov 2020 Slight loss of condition since Friday
Philip PirripExcellent30 Oct 2020 Just the job - no need to try any other here tonight
Philip PirripExcellent11 Sep 2020 A nostalgic pint in great nick

ChrisEExceptional09 Sep 2017 Absolutely superb, I had several of these.

Drayman's Son (formerly Liberty Belle), Ely, Cambridgeshire

ChrisEExcellent24 Aug 2017 It is so long since I drank Charrington IPA it is impossible to say whether they have replicated its true taste, but then it changed from Mile End to Wolverhampton and finally Faversham breweries before production ceased and I am sure it changed slightly each time. This was a fine ale and I had two of them.

Bridge Street Ale House, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

Nick WillisExcellent09 Nov 2016 Surprisingly very good.
