| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 20 Jun 2026 | 3rd beer of this visit: Came with very good head and lacing and lasting throughout on this gold-coloured amber red ale. A fruited first hit. Its English Pale malt base aiding a light grainy sweetness. A herbal hoppiness rising with subtle citrus and floral hoppy notes winning over. A complex mix for my taste buds with citrus, lemon-zest and a hint of black pepper and almost liquorice all waving on this ale’s final descent. Its US Columbus hops have been used for both bittering and in the late-boil to add a dry-hop additional flavouring. Served in fine fettle. |
