Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan SamplingGood07 Jun 2025 This pale, based at the foot of the Chiltern Hills and north-west of Hemel Hempstead, did not look quite right to me but tasted ok if you can excuse the amount of grapefruit flavouring it presented with. It arrived with an exceedingly foamy head and lacing and lasted. A fire extinguisher would have been proud of this! I summed it up as hazy and fruity but it did an admirable job in washing down the curry and accompanying rice, poppadums and naan bread, and in putting out any fire in my mouth. A hoppy fruity bitterness, aided by its Citra, Centennial and Amarillo hops, lingered and won over the spiciness of the curry.
