Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

BlairAcceptable28 Mar 2009 Subtle tasting ale with a hint of whiskey at the end. Malty with a little smoke hanging around. Nice enough but nothing special.

The Harvest Moon, Orpington, Greater London

DubbelGood04 Mar 2009 The merest snifter of whiskey on the nose and in the palate means this beer is not an overly harsh novelty piece. All in all a pretty well balanced ale that I took my time over.

Ship Centurion, Whitstable, Kent

BlairGood07 Mar 2008 The aroma is sweet with notes of fruit, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet fruity combined with light notes of whiskey and smoke. Pretty good beer.

The Belvedere, Liverpool, Merseyside

IanAcceptable23 Mar 2007 Copper colour with thick lasting cream head. Smooth caramel, some rounded fruit. Bit buttery maybe. Not sure I can pick up too much whiskey. Some candy sugar I suppose. Some dryness on end.

The New Inn, Canterbury, Kent

AndrewAcceptable17 Mar 2007 Bit of nothing really. Some malt and a hint of heathery whiskey I guess. Could have done without drinking it to be honest
