Large party of middle aged Belgians were in the conservatory, so we sat at a table just in front of the bar and were served by a woman of advanced years who seemed to do everything. Pour the beer, do the food, sell the beer from the shop and generally provide information and help. The beers on offer that day were the arabier and the oerbier. Bustling operation with the sound of the bottling plant in the background. Even ran into an English couple asking about gluten free beer. Excellent bar and brewery. Here with Martin on the first of our 3 stops at brewery taps in Belgium

The pub is found in Esen, nr Diksmuide, Belgium, 8000.

Tucked away on the main road through Esen, this is a real treat for any lover of beer. The brightly coloured sign welcomes you to the brewery. In order to reach the bar, you walk into the brewery and turn right by the "shop" (table with 6 or 20 bottle packs on, ready for off sales) and enter bar. Several tables are laid out and the slightly raised bar has 4 taps. The most used 2 are for the light arabier and the dark oerbier. Off to one side is a conservatory for coach parties and then a garden. Nice bar setting with plenty of wood and the art work of the head brewer adorning the walls. Helpful friendly staff make this an excellent place to visit. Brewery tours in English take place on Sunday's at 2pm
