Birthday lunchtime pint en-route between the Bluebell Railway and Wakehurst Place (Millennium Seed Bank). A good number of drinkers around the island bar area and a few in the covered patio area. Back end of a a mini-beer festival as part of Lindfield's arty/music weekend. Looks to be a Freehouse now as no Dark Star beers on?

Today, a group of Maidstone and mid-Kent CAMRA members, and others from the Flower Pot and surrounds, rode in a vintage bus and visited this excellent GBG as our lunchtime stopping point after our morning visit to the nearby Dark Star Brewery in Partidge Green. The Brewery visit was very good with many free samples enjoyed by all. Many of us also bought plenty of products from the brewery shop too. This pub was well received with some excellent ales on. The food here (pasties and a beef stew) was included as part of our trip, and, along with the excellent Dark Star ales, went down well too. Well done to branch chairman Jeff for his organisational skills, and to landlord Dave at the Flower Pot, who was the main sponsor of this trip today.

The pub is found in Lindfield, West Sussex, RH16 2HN.

Formerly Linden Tree in High Street, a GBG 2010 and 23 previous entries. Real log fires create a warm and comfortable atmosphere in winter. A courtyard at the rear provides a covered area for smokers and contains the old outbuildings of the long defunct Durrant's Brewery. Two beer festivals are held annually plus one cider/perry event. Draught real cider and perry are a regular feature of this pub, together with a good selection of bottled continental beers. Good value food is also served here.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 13 different beers and tried 4 of them.
