Mid evening friendly welcome very quiet just one other group in the rear bar. Proper locals back street pub atmosphere my only gripe the harsh lighting could be more subtle.

Early evening on the way to Chelmsford City FC. Fairly quiet with a knowledgable barman who explained that there were always four Crouch Vale beers on offer and normally four guests (only three today as one pump was out of action. I have forgotten the three guests but I think one was Hopback entire stout, a Burton Bridge beer and one other.
