I enjoyed a rather eccentric lunch here, waiting absolutely ages and then receiving what appeared to be the entire contents of the kitchen crammed on to one plate.

A former coaching inn, established in the late-18th century, this pub lies just off the town centre. It is closely associated with Doncaster horse racing. Formerly an Ind Coope house, it now serves a range of beers, including those of local breweries. Spacious interior.
