Evening. Lights off and no signs of life. With the Station Inn boarded up too this is becoming a desert area in what was once an oasis of working mens' boozers.

Evening 2015 hours. Lights off and doors shut. Fleurets For sale sign up outside. Locals in The Alex suggested hours are currently erratic here.

Early evening visit on the recommendation of Philip Pirrip. I sat in the superb public bar and had a chat with the landlord. There were several beers available from the Marston,s range but I did not make a note of them all.

The pub is found in Derby, Derbyshire, DE1 2SN.
Located in Midland Road, Derby 5 minutes from the railway station in a good small drinking circuit area. Consists of 2 distinctively different bars. The public has a wooden tiled floor and pool table. The saloon is carpeted and usually quieter. Has a very traditional pubby feel. New landlord in 2012 seems of the old school with traditional values.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
