---|---|---|---|
Jennings (since closure now brewed at Marston's) - Cumberland Ale | 4.00 | Times change or maybe I do but I was disappointed in the lack of focus in this 'flagship' beer. I suspect the recipe is not standing the test of time and could do with a (substantial) tweek. | |
Coach House - Farrier's Best Bitter | 3.90 | Served in good condition but brown, boring and tasting of cardboard. | |
Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried |

The pub is found in Hartlepool, Durham, TS24 0JJ.
Expect friendly local trade, open fires and plenty of chat in this traditional pub on the historic headland. This was the spot where they reputedly hung a shipwrecked monkey who was suspected of being a French spy. Nowadays there are 4 hand pumps to keep us amused, regular music evenings with free beer for singers and occasional nbeer festivals.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
