Ossett - Dana | 4.00 | Pale gold. Dry. Tasty hops.
Castle Rock - Su Pollard Nottinghamian Celebration Ale | 4.20 | Dark brown. Intensely caramel-flavoured. Probably a Porter I think. A bit of a shock after a day of hoppy beers. But good.
Mallinsons - Booom! | 4.30 | This beer had a nasty niff and an odd taste that was not greatly to my liking. Funny hops I think. Pale gold, discordant ingredients.

The pub is found in Birmingham, West Midlands, B5 5RE.
In New Canal Street, Digbeth it re-opened in September 2013 after suffering much vandalism. Lovingly restored and deservedly a CAMRA Heritage pub. There are four rooms one with hatch service. The pub was then operated by the same people as the Post Office Vaults. The pub is opposite the former very impressive entrance to Curzon Street railway station. 10 handpumps. Closed on Saturday 13th August 2022 with some regrets after 9 years running the place having rescued it from dilapidation. Future uncertain. Good news - now expected to reopen Friday 13th September 2024 and duly did following a sensitive refurbishment. The proprietor is John Brearly of Union Inns, who also restored the award-winning Swan & Railway, Wigan, in 2019. Now has 10 handpumps.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 20 different beers and tried 8 of them.
