Brains - IPA3.40PoorI stuggle to understand the point of this beer. It is not an IPA by any of the various definitions. Amber-coloured and malty. Served chilled and with a creamy head. Almost tasteless.

The pub is found in City, Central London, EC4N 5AD.

This pub was established before 1839 and for much of the twentieth century was a typically small and narrow City pub, standing opposite Cannon Street railway station and a few yards from the London Stone itself. Historically this was a Truman’s Brewery house. The pub was rebuilt in 1978, when the whole block was redeveloped, and now exists as a basement bar at the foot of an office building. There is split-level seating and the pub has a ‘Gothic’ theme, with skeletons and other Halloween-type décor. It also features several pictures of Elizabethan occultist John Dee. There are three handpumps which usually feature beers from the Brain’s Brewery of Cardiff.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
